House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer said it is confirmed that Joe Biden lied to the American people about his son’s business dealings. The Republican said the testimony of long-term Hunter Biden associate Devon Archer proves that the President has been hiding the truth, and he is aware that Hunter Biden has been involved in shady business dealings around the world.
“When Joe Biden was Vice President of the United States, he joined Hunter Biden’s dinners with his foreign business associates in person or by speakerphone over 20 times,” Comer said. He added that the American people must now ask what else the Democratic President is concealing from them.
Archer spoke to the Oversight Committee on July 31; a closed-door probe transcript was released on August 3. A central element of the testimony is Archer’s claim that President Biden was called from boardrooms and joined meetings by speakerphone on numerous occasions. He added, however, that he did not see any wrongdoing by the President.
Republicans and Democrats are reacting very differently to Archer’s claims. Democrats say the GOP is falling flat on its face in its pursuit of Joe Biden because each attempt to dig up dirt on him fails. Republicans, however, argue that Devon Archer’s testimony proves that President Biden has repeatedly lied to the public by insisting he is not involved with Hunter Biden’s businesses.
The Committee interview with Devon Archer also covered the infamous FD-1023 FBI document that contains allegations that President Biden took cash for favors during the Obama administration. The Committee subpoenaed the document from the FBI, claiming that Biden Senior used his influence to punish the enemies of companies providing vast sums to his son.
For example, a prosecutor investigating a Ukrainian energy company was fired only days after Vice President Biden joined a board meeting by speaker phone.
In his testimony, Devon Archer said he was unaware of these bribes and could not confirm or deny them.
