Trump Demands New Judge And Venue In Jan 6. Trial

Tanya S. Chutkan, a United States District Judge known for her political leanings and opposition to Donald Trump, has been assigned to oversee the ongoing lawsuit related to the events of January 6th in Washington, D.C. Former President Trump has requested the immediate recusal of the far-left and anti-Trump judge from the case.

Trump has repeatedly labeled the judge as biased during interviews.

Chutkan is known for issuing strict judgments against conservative defendants. The media reports that the federal judge in the nation’s capital has been imposing more severe sentences than the prosecution’s recommendations for prisoners sentenced on January 6th.

Chutkan’s history of volunteering for political causes suggests strong political leanings. The judge’s public contribution records show that she donated over $3,000 to Obama’s political campaigns from 2008 to 2012.

Chutkan’s professional ties to Hunter Biden add weight to Trump’s claims of favoritism. Biden and Chutkan both worked at the law firm Boies Schiller & Flexner LLP. (Monica Crowley, previously the Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs for the United States Department of the Treasury, Monica Crowley informed X readers about this connection.)

According to information from Open Secrets, Hunter Biden was employed as an attorney at the aforementioned firm from 2009 to 2014. Similarly, Chutkan also worked as an attorney at the same firm and later became a partner in 2007. Both Biden and Chutkan left the business in 2014. Biden pursued other interests, while Chutkan was chosen as a judge by President Obama, who was in office at the time.

In response to these findings, President Trump used his social network, Truth Social, to share his concerns and frustrations over the weekend.

He said there was no possibility that he would be able to receive a fair trial with the judge assigned to the “ludicrous case” involving freedom of expression and fair elections. Trump said this is common knowledge, and the judge knows it.

He said his team of lawyers would be promptly requesting the recusal of this judge based on very compelling reasons, and they will also be asking that the venue relocate to somewhere other than Washington, D.C.
