Trump Wants To Throw A Massive, Year-Long Birthday Party For America

Politico reported on Wednesday that Donald Trump is promising to hold a year-long birthday party to commemorate the country’s 250 years of independence, or as it is technically called the semi-quincentennial.

In a campaign video first obtained by Politico, Trump promises that if he is elected president in 2024, he would establish a “Salute to America 250” task force “on Day One” that would oversee a year-long semi-quincentennial celebration that would kick off on Memorial Day 2025 and end on the Fourth of July 2026.

As part of the “Salute to America 250,” Trump promises to work with the governors in all 50 states to establish a “Great American State Fair.”

Similar to the World’s Fair, Trump envisions that his “Great American State Fair” will feature pavilions from each of the states to “showcase the glory of every state in the Union” while promoting “pride in our history” and “innovative visions” for the country’s future.

In the video, Trump suggests holding his “Great American State Fair” at the Iowa state fairgrounds, no doubt in hopes that voters in the first-in-the-nation caucus state take notice.

Trump envisions “millions and millions” of people “from around the world” attending his hypothetical fair.

According to Politico, Trump’s promise of a year-long birthday celebration and “Great American State Fair” are “heavy on patriotic themes and state planning.”

It is unclear if Trump envisions having daily celebrations during the year-long birthday party. But in the video, he does float possible ideas, including holding “Patriot Games” featuring high school sporting competitions.

Another possible feature of his year-long birthday party is a familiar one.

In the video, Trump promises to finally build the “National Garden of American Heroes,” a project he authorized through an executive order before he left the White House in 2020 which President Biden scrapped when he took office.
