“Today” Host Reveals 6-Year-Old Wanted To Wear A Crop-Top

Hoda Kotb isn’t going to let her daughter mature too quickly.

The Monday, June 12, broadcast of Today with Hoda & Jenna revealed that her oldest kid had inquired about donning a belly shirt.

Haley, her daughter, is only six.

On the broadcast, Kotb described how she and her daughter were walking down the street, and Haley began pulling her shirt up to reveal her midriff. Kotb asked what she was doing. That is when the youngster said she wanted to wear a crop top.

Bush Hager, 41, speculated that maybe she wanted to mimic adolescent fashion trends, but Kotb said that her daughter doesn’t know any teen females to observe the fashion.

The 58-year-old co-host said that is where she had to draw a line. She said she wanted her kids to feel comfortable in their skin, but she refused the request.

The native Oklahoman, who adopted Haley and Hope, 3, with ex-fiancé Joel Schiffman, admitted she had trouble deciding how much freedom to give her daughter.

Kotb is open about her efforts to instill morality in her children.

In 2017, Hoda and her ex-fiance Joel Schiffman adopted a baby girl named Haley. In 2019 they made room for a new little girl and adopted Hope. Hoda and Joel’s relationship ended in 2022, although they have co-parented the two kids ever since.

The story of Hope’s admission to the intensive care unit and Hoda’s subsequent two-week absence from TODAY due to a “family health matter” made headlines earlier this year. On the March 6 broadcast of TODAY with Hoda & Jenna, Hoda updated viewers on Hope’s condition. Hope was better.

As an older mother of small children, Kotb has admitted she worries about losing out on her kids’ milestones.

Because she adopted Haley and Hope later in life, the Today Show host revealed that she “sometimes” deals with worry when she thinks about not being there to see them get married or have kids.
