2024 Polling Shift Impacts Trump And Biden

(JustPatriots.com)- A recent NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll found that Democrats are more likely to believe Joe Biden is their best chance of maintaining the White House in 2024 than Republicans are to believe Donald Trump is their best hope of gaining the presidency.

While 50 percent of Democrat respondents believe that President Biden has a better chance of winning the White House compared to other Democrat candidates, only 42 percent of Republicans believe the same about Donald Trump.

Among Democrats, 45 percent believe another Democrat nominee would have a better chance of winning the presidency than Biden. Meanwhile, 54 percent of Republicans believe the party has a better chance of retaking the White House with someone other than Trump.

Trump has also suffered a significant drop in favorability among Republicans in the recent Marist poll, dropping from 79 percent in November to only 68 percent in February, marking his lowest favorable rating among GOP voters in a Marist poll since before he won the 2016 election.

Meanwhile, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis continues to rise in the polls.

While Trump tops DeSantis by 2 points in favorability, the popular Florida governor carries only an 11 percent unfavorable rating in last week’s Marist poll.

In the latest WPA Intelligence national GOP primary poll released last week, Governor DeSantis tops the former president 40 percent to 31 in a crowded field. Former Vice President Mike Pence and former Governor Nikki Haley tied for third place at 8 percent with former Congresswoman Liz Cheney following behind at 5 percent. The other potential candidates all polled at 2 percent or less.

In WPA Intelligence’s head-to-head match-up between Trump and DeSantis, DeSantis trounces the former president by 18 points, 55 percent to 37 percent.

National primary polls, however, are hardly reliable since primary elections happen on the state level and not nationally.

A recent state poll out of California found that Governor DeSantis tops former President Trump among California GOP primary voters 37 percent to 29 percent with Nikki Haley coming in third with 7 percent.
