W.H.O. Head Says Biden is Punishing Africa for Doing the Right Thing

(JustPatriots.com)- Over the weekend, President Biden announced that he was banning all travel into the US from several southern African nations in response to the Omicron variant. And World Health Organization director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus was not pleased.

In a statement on Tuesday, Tedros called Biden’s travel ban “blunt,” and urged the US and other countries to reconsider. He argued that South Africa and Batswana were being “penalized” by other countries “for doing the right thing.”

Tedros noted that the Delta variant is still the dominant threat for millions around the planet. Calling Delta a “highly-transmissible, dangerous variant,” Tedros said it accounts for nearly all current global cases of COVID.

During a special World Health Assembly session to discuss the pandemic, Tedros demanded that world governments “end this pandemic.”

Why do we need the World Health Organization if it’s the responsibility of world governments to end a pandemic?

But at least Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has remained consistent in his objections to travel bans. The same can’t be said for Joe Biden.

When President Trump banned travel from China, Tedros flipped his lid and demanded that countries not restrict travel. Early on in the pandemic, Sky News in Australia reported that, under Tedros’ leadership, the World Health Organization shut down any medical experts who were calling for travel restrictions on China.

Joe Biden, like Tedros, also strenuously objected to Trump’s COVID-related travel bans – going so far as to accuse the former President of “xenophobia.” In a tweet after Trump banned travel from Europe, candidate Biden whined that banning travel will not stop the virus.

But as President, Biden kept in place Trump’s ban on travel from Europe until just last month.

When Trump banned travel from some African countries over COVID, candidate Biden accused the former president of doing so to “make it harder for black and brown people to immigrate to the United States.” He claimed Trump’s actions “further diminished the US in the eyes of the world.”

And on Monday, President Biden banned travel from some African countries because of the Omicron variant. No doubt old Joe doesn’t think the same criticism applies to him.
