Virginia Giuffre Admits “Mistake” In Accusing Alan Dershowitz Along With Epstein

( Alan Dershowitz’s name has been cleared after the woman who accused him of having coerced sex with her tells the court and media that she might have made a mistake, according to a report by Breitbart.

Dershowitz has tried to clear his name for years after Giuffre initially claimed she was sex trafficked by disgraced financier and convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein and coerced into having sex with Dershowitz.

The accusations came at the height of “Me Too,” a social movement that sought to expose sexual assault and abuse, most notably at the hands of men.

In 2015, the famous lawyer penned an op-ed in The New York Times, saying that he might not have the opportunity to prove his innocence, or for the accuser to prove his guilt.

“I now stand accused of crimes I did not commit, by an unnamed woman who I don’t know and never met…I may never have the opportunity to prove my innocence, or to have my accusers prove the false charges, in any court of law…Imagine the same thing happening to a person who did not have the resources to fight back,” he wrote.

As a result of the experience, in 2019 Dershowitz wrote, “Guilt by Accusation: The Challenge of Proving Innocence in the Age of #MeToo.” Three years later, The New York Times then reported that Giuffre had agreed to withdraw her allegations.

A joint statement followed the settlement.

“I have long believed that I was trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein to Alan Dershowitz. However, I was very young at the time, it was a very stressful and traumatic environment, and Mr. Dershowitz has from the beginning consistently denied these allegations,” the statement read. “I now recognize I may have made a mistake in identifying Mr. Dershowitz.”

“She has suffered much at the hands of Jeffrey Epstein, and I commend her work combating the evil of sex trafficking,” Mr. Dershowitz reportedly said of Ms. Giuffre in his own statement.

After the settlement, the litigation between Giuffre and Dershowitz has finally come to an end.
