U.S. Loses Military Edge Over China, Experts Say

(JustPatriots.com)- For years we’ve heard talk about how China would eventually take over the United States as the leading world superpower, and it looks like it might finally be happening under the Biden administration.

According to a report from the Washington Post, the Pentagon is facing substantial hurdles in maintaining the United States military’s edge over the Chinese military. Despite massive upgrades during the Trump administration, the U.S. military is struggling to continue that pace of growth under the Biden administration, particularly with regards to artificial intelligence technology and hypersonic aircraft.

Never mind an economic edge over the United States…can you imagine if China had a military edge, too?

The Post said that senior officials in the U.S. military are warning that China could surpass the United States within the next five years, with the American military struggling to grow as a result of a slow budgeting process and oversight from Congress.

It turns out an authoritarian regime gets things done quicker than America’s bureaucracy. Maybe it’s time for that to change…

Mackenzie Eaglen, a defense analyst from the American Enterprise Institute, said that it’s as if the Pentagon is “finding itself staring in the rearview mirror in the face of oncoming traffic.”

The Post also referenced a report about artificial intelligence from the National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence that revealed how the United States military was woefully behind on development. The report says that China is all set to take global dominancy on AI by 2030.

AI is an important technology for China, not only providing an edge in the military, but also allowing its oppressive government to more easily track its citizens.

In September 2020, The Atlantic revealed the terrifying truth of AI technology use in China, describing how the country already has hundreds of millions of cameras operating in the country, with plans in place to achieve total video coverage of all key public areas. Much of the footage from those cameras is then tracked by algorithms, with every person in the near future expected to be identified by the AI cameras instantly, “matching them to an ocean of personal data, including their every text communication, and their body’s one-of-a-kind protein-construction schema.”

If a country is willing to use AI for that on its own citizens, how might it be used against foreign enemies?
