(JustPatriots.com)- According to a report by Natalia Winters, a biolab in Ukraine receiving funds from the United States government was previously used as a bioweapons factory by the government of the Soviet Union. The report claims that experts say that lab did not have any modern biosafety equipment and contained lethal microbes that in any Western laboratory would be locked away in high-containment laboratory facilities.
Winters cites an article from the Washington Post published on August 30, 2005. The article reveals how a lab was receiving funding from the U.S. government and “supplied highly lethal pathogens to Soviet bioweapons factories.”
Then, in 2008, researchers at the James Martin Center for Non-Proliferation Studies in California also noted that the management of the Mechnikob facility claimed in 2004 that they didn’t know anything about the Soviet bioweapons program, which was given the codename “Problem 5.”
“We question the second since it was in effect a closed facility until the late 1980s and worked on highly dangerous Group II pathogens and, probably, at least at times on some Group I pathogens since at least 1965. It would make sense if at least one of its laboratories worked on Problem 5 projects,” James Martin Center researchers noted.
Another report from the same research center also claimed to have information on practices at the U.S.-funded facility. The report reads:
“The lack of modern biosafety equipment is also raising concern among U.S. officials about the potential for an accidental release of deadly bacteria and viruses.”
The report claims that scientists were handling incredibly dangerous pathogens wearing only cotton smocks and surgical masks. The same kind that doesn’t prevent the spread of COVID-19, let alone other, more dangerous pathogens.
You can read the full report here. It seems to suggest that Russia may be telling a half-truth when it suggests that the U.S. government is funding a biolab with the aim of using biological weapons against Russia. Perhaps the simple truth is that there is a lab, and that it’s not suitably kitted out with protective equipment.
Who really knows?
