Trump-appointed prosecutor in California is cracking down on illegal immigration like never before, exposing the Biden administration’s shocking failure to enforce existing laws. The numbers tell a devastating story about four years of border neglect.
At a glance:
- California prosecutor Joseph McNally charged 126 illegal immigrants with illegal reentry in less than two months
- This matches the total number (128) charged during Biden’s entire four-year administration
- McNally established a special section focused on prosecuting smuggling and criminal aliens
- Notable cases include child sex offenders and violent criminals who repeatedly entered illegally
- A major Guatemalan smuggling ring trafficking 20,000 people was recently dismantled
Trump Appointee Outperforms Biden’s Four-Year Record In Weeks
Acting U.S. Attorney Joseph McNally for the Central District of California has made immigration enforcement a top priority, charging 126 illegal immigrants with illegal reentry in just the first two months of Trump’s term. This aggressive approach stands in stark contrast to the Biden administration’s record of only 128 similar charges filed over their entire four-year tenure.
The prosecutions target dangerous criminals who have repeatedly violated U.S. immigration laws, including sex offenders, drug dealers, and individuals with violent criminal histories. Many of these illegal immigrants had been previously deported multiple times, highlighting the ongoing border security crisis that escalated during the Biden-Harris administration.
Dangerous Criminals Among Those Prosecuted
“The U.S. Attorney’s Office is enforcing long-standing immigration laws, and illegal aliens who defy lawful removal orders by returning to this nation will be prosecuted,” declared McNally, who was appointed to his position this year. “These charges promote respect for the immigration laws. The individuals charged over the past week include sex offenders, narcotics dealers, violent criminals, and others who pose a danger to the public.”
Among those charged was Oscar Parra-Reyes, a dangerous child sex offender who had been deported four separate times. Ricardo Reynoso-Garcia, previously convicted of voluntary manslaughter, was also among those facing prosecution after repeatedly entering the country illegally.

Fighting California’s Sanctuary Policies
McNally established the Domestic Security and Immigration Section in February specifically to tackle the immigration crisis. He said that the entity is “focused on prosecuting alien smuggling and criminal aliens who returned to the United States after being deported who have felony convictions.”
The prosecutor’s office faces significant challenges due to California’s sanctuary state policies, which restrict cooperation between state authorities and federal immigration officials. Despite these obstacles, McNally’s team is finding ways to identify and prosecute criminal aliens who pose a threat to public safety.
In a major victory, McNally’s office recently dismantled a massive Guatemalan smuggling operation responsible for trafficking approximately 20,000 people into the United States. Six arrests were made, with four suspects potentially facing the death penalty for their involvement in this extensive human trafficking network.
