Emily Ratajkowski, a model and actress, posted a video about the benefits of divorce before the age of 30.
The 32-year-old woman’s four-year marriage to producer Sebastian Bear-McClard ended in divorce in September 2022. Sylvester Apollo, the ex-couple’s child, is two years old.
After actress Sophie Turner, 27, revealed she was divorcing singer Joe Jonas on Wednesday, Ratajkowski shared a video on TikTok detailing her feelings.
The video featured Ratajkowski saying that many young women get divorced before 30. She said she is 32 years old, and after being married for a year and a half but now divorced, she can honestly say that she can’t imagine anything better.
The Gone Girl star said, “Your twenties are the front lines.”
Ratajkowski said having attempted the married ideal and understanding it’s maybe not all it’s made up to be, being in your thirties is the best time of your life, especially if you’re still attractive and have some financial independence. The rest of your life is still ahead of you.
The actress said that those getting divorced shouldn’t worry themselves too much.
It’s all good, she asserted. Congratulations.
The model said in the video’s description that being divorced before 30 is a style statement for her. She said she views it as “chic.” Getting a divorce is trendy.
Many Instagram users shared her viewpoint, while others, understandably, argued against it.
Ratajkowski claimed that marriage is a myth.
In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar published in November 2022, she described experiencing various feelings. She said it was simultaneously making her angry and sad. It also makes her happy. To put it simply, every day is different.
Ratajkowski said in an interview that her mother had a divorce when she was in her early 30s, long before she conceived Ratajkowski.
