Reports show Ray Stevenson, a prominent actor in both film and television, has passed away at age 58.
Last Sunday, a few days before his 59th birthday, actor Ray Stevenson passed away, according to a representative for the actor. There was no information on the cause of death.
The director of Guardians of the Galaxy, James Gunn, tweeted his condolences upon hearing the news of Ray Stevenson’s death, saying he was sorry to learn of the death of Ray Stevenson.
Gunn said they only worked with the post-credits scene for Thor 2 and at a handful of events, but the time they spent together was entertaining, and he was a pleasure to be around. He said his thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones today.
Born in 1964 in Northern Ireland, Stevenson started acting in the 1990s.
His breakthrough occurred in 2004 as he portrayed Dagonet in “King Arthur.” Years later, he was cast in a pivotal role as Marvel’s Punisher in “Punisher: War Zone.”
As mentioned by Variety, in addition to “Thor,” “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” “The Three Musketeers,” “The Book of Eli,” “G.I. Joe: Retaliation,” “RRR,” and the Disney+ “Star Wars” series “Ahsoka,” Stevenson has been in several more notable films and tv programs. He also provided the voices for many characters in “Star Wars Rebels.”

He was cast in place of Kevin Spacey in the film “Gateway to the West.”
