(JustPatriots.com)- Failed Democratic Virginia gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe, who spectacularly lost to Republican candidate Glenn Youngkin on Tuesday night, wrongly claimed during the campaign that his Republican opponent was planning on appearing alongside former President Donald Trump on his last night of campaigning.
McAuliffe, who repeatedly tried to draw comparisons between Youngkin and Trump during the election campaign, was simply not telling the truth – and it seems as though he knew it, too.
What really happened, however, was that former President Donald Trump held a phone rally for Youngkin which the Virginia candidate didn’t officially take part in.
On Monday night during a rally in Fairfax, McAuliffe said:
“Guess how Glenn Youngkin is finishing his campaign? He is doing an event with Donald Trump here in Virginia,” he said.
Wrong.
The claim even reached Politico’s Playbook email on Tuesday, the day of the election.
The “tele-rally” held by the former President was closed to the media and general public, and featured Trump speaking for roughly six minutes about the importance of advancing the Make America Great Again agenda and voting for McAuliffe in Virginia.
This weekend, President Trump held a "tele-rally" instead of an in-person gathering due to the coronavirus. Plus, the administration is reportedly trying to block funding for COVID-19 testing and tracing. @KellyO has more. pic.twitter.com/iYspSYEpFS

Clearly, Youngkin was not present.
This is just not true from McAuliffe in Fairfax: "Guess how Glenn Youngkin is finishing his campaign? He is doing an event with Donald Trump here in Virginia."
Youngkin is not "doing an event" with Trump. The former president is calling into a closed press tele-rally.

Did the Democrats really think that comparing Youngkin to Trump would be a bad thing? Biden technically “won” Virginia by 10 points last time, but Youngkin handily beat McAuliffe on Tuesday night.
It raises yet more questions about whether or not the last presidential election was quite as secure as they told us it was…
