(JustPatriots.com)- As the new Taliban government of Afghanistan continues its efforts to establish legitimacy on the world stage, terrorist fighters representing the Islamist group have been ordered to stop carrying weapons when visiting carnivals in Afghanistan. They were also blocked from using military grade transportation and wearing military uniforms.
The news was announced by a spokesman from the Islamist group, and it comes as they seek foreign funding to rebuild Afghanistan following the total destruction of the last elected government.
The reference to carnivals may seem a little strange, but it’s important. Following the collapse of the Afghanistan government, Taliban fighters were captured on video attending carnivals, amusement parks, and other entertainment facilities while wearing military uniforms and brandishing weapons. Some were seen riding on boats and roller coasters holding M4 and AK-47 assault rifles.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid announced that the Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate “are not allowed to enter amusement parks with weapons, military unifroms and vehicles.”
He made the statement on Twitter, and while it was a clear effort to normalize the Afghan government, it kind of also proved how different they are.
What country needs to announce to its own people that they should not be going to amusement parks holding…AK47s and rocket launchers?
“They are obliged to abide by all the rules and regulations of amusement parks,” the statement continued.
It would be funny if it wasn’t so tragic for the people of Afghanistan…
