(JustPatriots.com)- Steve Bannon’s contempt trial didn’t seem to hurt the popularity of his War Room podcast, much to the disgust of the liberal media.
Despite being on trial last week for contempt of Congress, viewership for Bannon’s podcast remains one of Apple’s top 10 podcasts for news.
According to podcast metrics company Chartable, on July 5, Bannon’s War Room was ranked 21st on Apple’s news-related podcasts. Two days later, it landed in the top 10 at number 7 and has remained in the top ten ever since.
And much to the media’s surprise, Bannon’s trial last week did nothing to shove his podcast out of the top ten. By Wednesday, War Room was ranked number 9 on Apple’s news-related podcasts.
War Room experienced a boost during the month of July among all US podcasts on Apple as well. By late June, War Room ranked number 111 out of all US Apple podcasts. But by the time Bannon was on trial in Washington, his podcast was ranked number 44 overall.
After the DC jury found Bannon guilty on two charges of contempt of Congress, journalist Julie Kelly tweeted, “Bannon is gonna gain like a million new viewers of War Room lol.”
While that remains to be seen, it is undeniable that Bannon’s politically-motivated show trial didn’t make him lose viewers.
Bannon’s sentencing is scheduled for October when he could face between 30 days and one year in prison and up to $100,000 in fines for each charge.
His attorneys have already said they would appeal the conviction.
