(JustPatriots.com)- Remember Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller, the U.S. Marine who called for the nation’s military leaders to be held accountable after the disastrous withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan resulted in the deaths of 13 service members?
Well, according to Newsmax, a source has revealed that he is unlikely to be punished by the judge presiding over his military trial after he pleaded guilty to charges relating to his criticism of President Biden’s horrible policy.
On August 26, Scheller published a video on his social media platforms suggesting that our military leaders were not being held accountable for the Afghanistan withdrawal, which not only got American soldiers killed but gifted billions of dollars of American military equipment to the Taliban.
Should the plea deal be signed off on, according to the Newsmax source, Scheller leaving the Marines will be classified as “general – under honorable conditions.” The source added that the judge is currently reviewing the plea agreement and is expected to issue a letter of reprimand as the maximum sentence. He may, however, be forced to forfeit some of his monthly pay for as long as a year.
Forfeiting pay and going up before a military trial because he was brave enough to call out the nation’s political leadership that caused a crisis?
When entering his guilty plea to all charges, Scheller also waived his right to a trial by jury and specifically chose the trial to be overseen by a military judge. This is only speculation, of course, but it would make sense to choose a military judge over a jury…why would he want to risk people who voted for Joe Biden making a decision about his case?
Scheller was charged with a number of offenses under the Uniform Code of Military Justice and was accused of showing disrespect to his superiors and willfully disobeying a superior commissioned officer.
