(JustPatriots.com)- Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the legendary left-wing Supreme Court Justice who passed away after losing a battle with cancer, expressed his displeasure of the Supreme Court only having eight justices. She did this following the death of her friend, conservative Justice Antonin Scalia in 2016. Republicans argued that they needed more time to vote on a replacement during the lame-duck period of Obama’s administration, while Democrats desperately pushed to fill the seat with a left-wing judge.
CNN reported in 2016 how Ginsburg strongly opposed waiting for a new judge to replace Scalia, saying that eight justices was “not a good number for a multi-member court.”
It’s the clearest evidence yet that RBG opposed waiting around to replace supreme court justices. That’s what President Donald Trump is pushing and planning to do, but something the Democrats are desperately trying to stop.
Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi went as far as suggesting she would use her power and influence in Congress to push for the impeachment of President Donald Trump and Attorney General William Barr to stop a new justice being nominated.
During an interview, Ginsburg explained why having only eight people on the court causes serious problems – a situation that would go on for some time if President Trump does not quickly nominate a replacement for the legendary feminist judge.
“That means no opinion and no precedential value; an equal division is essentially the same as a denial of review,” Ginsburg said at the time. “Eight, as you know, is not a good number for a multi-member court.”
Reports also suggest that Ginsburg said to her granddaughter that her dying wish was that she would be replaced by a “new president.”
“My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed,” she said. Which could mean that she was expecting the Democrats to win in November and wanted to be replaced by Trump’s successor, or it could mean that she is waiting for the day Trump leaves office.
And you can bet there are Democrats out there willing to try and stop the nomination and confirmation of a replacement for a further four years until Trump leaves office.
