(JustPatriots.com)- When Republican challenger Kari Lake was ahead in the polls in the Arizona gubernatorial race, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow reportedly blamed “gun rights” for intimidation.”
Maddow’s theory about why the Trump-endorsed candidate was ahead in the polls was that Arizona was an open-carry state where far-right wingers used guns to intimidate their political opponents at the polls.
“A lot of the far-right in Arizona has been willing to use their open carry privilege as a form of political intimidation,” Maddow claimed.

The claim was repeated by MSNBC’s Claire McCaskill, who said that MAGA supporters are “out there with guns and camo.”

Democrats in the media were reportedly preparing for a “red mirage,” that would show Republican leads on election night dwindle as more and more mail-in ballots were counted into the night, the next few days, and a week after the election, according to a report from conservative magazine American Pigeon.
President Biden reiterated this point when he urged voters to “be patient” as all legitimate ballots were counted after polls closed.
The phenomenon of the “red mirage” or “blue shift” was reportedly popularized during the 2020 election, where mail-in ballots were more significant as a result of the pandemic, with Democrats anxious to get out and vote in person.
Democrats were reportedly correct in their prediction as Democrats dodged the “red wave” bullet with the GOP securing the House only by a small majority.
Key races for Republicans were otherwise lost. Nearly a week after the Arizona polls closed, Kari Lake was defeated by Democrat Katie Hobbs. Blake Masters was also defeated by Democrat Mark Kelly.
After four days, Republican Adam Laxalt conceded to Democrat Catherine Cortez Masto for Nevada’s Senate seat, issuing a loss to the GOP’s hope of securing both chambers of Congress.
