Russia’s Desperate Hit Job on Ammunition King

When you’re supplying the bullets that are killing Russian soldiers, it’s only a matter of time before you end up on Putin’s hit list. That’s exactly what happened to Armin Papperger, CEO of Rheinmetall AG, Germany’s largest arms manufacturer and Europe’s biggest ammunition producer. The assassination plot against Papperger wasn’t just some half-baked scheme – intelligence officials described it as “more advanced” than other plots targeting defense industry chiefs across Europe. How’s that for Russian gratitude after decades of Germany bending over backward to maintain “diplomatic relations” with Moscow?

This isn’t just another day at the office for executives in the defense industry. Papperger now walks around with security that rivals German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. That’s right – the CEO of a private company now needs the same level of protection as the head of government. If that doesn’t tell you everything you need to know about the seriousness of Putin’s threat, I don’t know what will. Meanwhile, our own government can barely protect Americans from illegal immigrants pouring across our southern border.

Sabotage Campaign Across Europe

The plot against Papperger isn’t an isolated incident. Russia is conducting a full-scale sabotage campaign across Europe, targeting railways, military bases, and other critical infrastructure. Their goal? Disrupt the flow of weapons and ammunition to Ukraine at all costs. The Kremlin knows they can’t win this war fair and square, so they’ve resorted to their age-old playbook of assassination and sabotage. This is the same regime our leftist politicians insisted for years was no threat to Europe. How’s that “reset button” working out now, folks?

“What we can say very clearly is that we are taking the significantly increased threat posed by Russian aggression very seriously, we are acting together with our international partners and the security authorities of the federal states to protect our country and to thwart Putin’s plans. We know that Putin’s regime wants to intervene, above all, in our support of Ukraine in its defense against the Russian war of aggression, but the German government will not allow itself to be intimidated”, says spokesperson for the German Interior Ministry.

Let’s be crystal clear about what’s happening here. The Russians are attempting to assassinate the executives of private companies on NATO soil. In a sane world, this would be considered an act of war. But instead, we get carefully worded statements from government officials who are too afraid to call this what it is – state-sponsored terrorism. And where’s our fearless leader during all this? Probably taking another nap or eating ice cream while the world burns.

Building Ukraine’s Defense Industry

What really has Putin’s underpants in a twist is Rheinmetall’s plans to produce Lynx infantry fighting vehicles and artillery ammunition in Ukraine itself. That’s right – they’re not just sending weapons; they’re helping Ukraine build its own defense industry. This is exactly the kind of strategic thinking that could eventually reduce Ukraine’s dependence on Western handouts. No wonder the Kremlin is freaking out. If Ukraine can stand on its own two feet militarily, Russia’s dreams of Soviet restoration are permanently squashed.

“While I don’t have a comment on this specific report, Russia’s intensifying campaign of subversion is something that we are taking extremely seriously and have been intently focused on over the past few months. The United States has been discussing this issue with our NATO Allies, and we are actively working together to expose and disrupt these activities. We have also been clear that Russia’s actions will not deter Allies from continuing to support Ukraine”, states Adrienne Watson.

The White House’s response is typical bureaucratic doublespeak. They’ll “expose and disrupt” Russian activities, but heaven forbid they actually hold Putin accountable for attempting to murder a NATO country business executive. Remember when America used to stand for something? When we wouldn’t let foreign dictators run roughshod over our allies? Now we issue statements expressing “concern” while Putin laughs all the way to his next assassination plot. This is what happens when you project weakness on the world stage – the bad guys get emboldened and the good guys get killed.
