Oath Keepers Leader May Soon Be Released On Bail After Decision By Judge

(JustPatriots.com)- United States Magistrate Judge Kimberley Priest is reportedly considering releasing Stewart Rhodes, the founder of right-wing patriotic group “Oath Keepers,” on bail. It comes as Rhodes fight sedition charges relating to his attendance at the January 6 riots in Washington, D.C., where a small crowd broke off from a peaceful protest and illegally entered the Capitol Building.

According to a report by Politico, Judge Johnson said that there hasn’t been any evidence presented in the last year to support the idea that Johnson is a flight risk. It was exactly what Johnson’s lawyers have argued for the last year. It also reflects the fact that it has been more than a year and Rhodes still has not been charged.

Attorney Phillip Linder said that claiming Johnson is dangerous is “disingenuous.”

“Why did they wait? To me, that speaks volumes,” he said.

Good point – and not just for Johnson. Why has it taken so long to charge so many people who were involved with the riot, most of whom engaged in zero violence and caused less chaos and destruction than the far-left Antifa and Black Lives Matter rioters who burned down hundreds of cities in 2020?

Assistant United States Attorney Kathryn Rakoczy argues, however, that Rhodes should be held without bail over accusations that he blocked the peaceful transition of power during the January 6 riot. She also claimed that Johnson is an “immense” danger and should not be let free, but she did not provide an explanation of how she believes he poses a danger to the public.

Over 725 people have been charged with crimes relating to the January 6 riot over the last year. Rhodes is one of 11 members of the Oath Keepers facing sedition charges.

If they really believe this is an appropriate response to the riot, then why were so many Antifa and BLM rioters let go without so much as a slap on the wrist in 2020?
