More Hypocrisy From NYC Health Leader, Other Liberals Who Celebrate Biden-Harris Win In Big Crowds

( Mark Levine wants residents of New York City to be wary of a second wave of the coronavirus pandemic. But, he’s apparently OK with thousands of people gathering in packed areas to celebrate the election victory for Democrats Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

On Saturday, crowds gathered in the streets in New York City following the projection that Biden had won the presidency. Levin, who is a member of the City Council and chairman of the health committee, approved of the gathering. He tweeted a video of residents who can be seen and heard chanting “U.S.A.! U.S.A.!”

He wrote above the video:

“An emotional crowd in Times Square watching [Joe Biden] & [Kamala Harris] make history in first speeches as Pres- & VP-elect.”

On day later, Levine took a drastically different tone when he warned residents of the city that New York was in the middle of the second wave of the pandemic. In that warning on Twitter, he implored people to avoid the large social gatherings that only one day earlier he celebrated.

In that message, he wrote:

“It’s time to start rallying New Yorkers — again – to flatten the curve.”

He suggested that residents should “avoid … social gatherings with people outside your household,” and “keep 6 ft. apart where possible.”

In the video he posted Saturday, though, every person pictured was breaking both of those rules.

This type of hypocritical messaging and enforcement of coronavirus restrictions and suggestions is nothing new for the Democratic-led New York City. Back in June, Mayor Bill de Blasio was blasting religious groups for holding gatherings at the same time he was seen walking with protesters following the death of George Floyd.

Levine capitalized on that situation, too, but with a hypocritical term. Back then, he tweeted:

“Let’s be clear about something: if there is a spike in coronavirus cases in the next two weeks, don’t blame the protesters. Blame racism. And let’s remember that the police are increasing COVID risk by: using tear gas; herding demonstrators into tight spaces; putting people in crowded jails.”

In other words, Levine says it’s not the people who are breaking the laws who are the problem, it’s the people who are enforcing them. You would think that a City Council member who’s also chair of the health committee would be on the side of the real cause of the spread. But apparently, that’s just not reality to Levine and the other liberals in New York City.

The celebrating in Manhattan was similar in look to that of the Biden-Harris gathering in Delaware on Saturday night, where the two made speeches. People were packed into a tight area — albeit outdoors. Some were wearing masks, but not all people were. And everyone definitely wasn’t observing social-distancing suggestions or being completely “mask compliant” either.

Just another case of Democrats lambasting Republicans for gathering at rallies for President Donald Trump while thinking it’s OK for them to do the same thing when their candidate wins.
