Missing Search Ends With A Body

(JustPatriots.com)- After weeks of searching, the body of a Maryland teenager who went missing in September was discovered in a forested location on November 15.

Rosa Diaz-Santos, age 17, was last observed leaving Franklin Park on September 22 and moving toward Eleanor Roosevelt High School just before 8:00 a.m., according to police.

On November 15, at around 12:30 pm, the Prince George’s County Police Department received word that bone remains had been discovered “in a forested area.”

An autopsy determined the cause of death as a homicide, and officials have now opened an inquiry to find the suspect or suspects in the case.

According to reports, the Eleanor Roosevelt High School administrator, Dr. Portia Barnes, wrote to families on Monday.

He said he regretted to inform that Rosa Santos-Diaz, a student at Eleanor Roosevelt High School, passed away.

“We want those who knew Rosa to honor and remember her life. We urge that those of you who did not know Rosa appreciate our grief and lend us your help by being understanding,” the letter said.

“It is very tough for all of us to confront the death of a young child.”

On November 15, about 12:30 p.m., her remains were discovered close to the 1600 Block of Drexel Street. Later, a medical examiner identified the 17-year-old and declared her death a homicide. The Maryland teen’s possible cause of death is unknown, as well as how her remains ended up there.

About 10 miles southwest of Greenbelt and just north of the Capitol, the bone remains were discovered.
