Whether or not Melania Trump, the former first lady, will give a speech at the Republican convention is still up in the air.
According to an insider, the ex-first lady will be present at the party nomination ceremony in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where her husband, the former president, will accept the nomination. Nobody knows for sure what her involvement will be in the proceedings just yet.
Melania Trump’s speech at the 2016 Republican National Convention was subsequently criticized for being too similar to a speech given by Michelle Obama. She was asked to speak again at the 2020 convention.
During this 2024 campaign, the former first lady was noticeably missing. The speculation is that the Trump marriage is tense after Trump’s conviction in the “Adult Film Star Payoff” trial. Melania Trump was missing throughout the trial in her hometown of New York City.
She made an appearance at Trump’s 2022 campaign launch, but she hasn’t accompanied him to a rally since. She was a no-show after his victories in the Iowa caucuses, New Hampshire primary, and Super Tuesday primaries. She also skipped the first with Biden.
The Republican National Convention will feature speeches from several GOP leaders, including all of the people on his vice presidential shortlist, as well as other members of the Trump family.
Despite not being included on the list of keynote speakers and headliners provided by the convention organizers on Saturday, the former first lady will nonetheless attend the event.
Political pundit Tucker Carlson, Trump’s eldest sons, Donald Jr. and Eric Trump, are among those scheduled to give speeches.
Singer/songwriter Lee Greenwood and UFC CEO Dana White are among the guests on the show. (Greenwood performs Trump’s walk-on song, “God Bless the USA.”)
Model Amber Rose is scheduled to speak, which is an odd choice since she is the founder of the adult content site Only Fans.
There has been no word on how Melania feels about that.
