(JustPatriots.com)- Far-left California Democratic congresswoman Maxine Waters is in the center of yet another political storm. This time, the media has revealed how the controversial representative paid her daughter over $80,000 in campaign funds over the last fiscal year – which ended at the end of September.
Financial disclosure records just published and reviewed by the press show that Waters, acting as the chairwoman of the House Financial Services Committee, paid her daughter, Karen Waters, some $81,650 out of her campaign funds.
That’s a lot of money.
It appeared to be paid as a salary, with the total sum of money being paid in 12 installments, starting October 23 last year and through to June 17 this year.
A total of $212,600 in payments made by Waters’ campaign were broken down into 26 different categories, ranging from “slate mailer management fees” and “Get out and vote.”
This isn’t the first time that Waters has been scrutinized in this way. Waters has a long history of paying her family members for working for her office. For her, working in Congress is a family business. 17 years ago, the Los Angeles Times revealed how Waters had paid out a massive $1 million to her family from her campaign funds.
She was known as a nepotist then, and now we know she has never changed.
Water’s daughter has been working for her mother for decades now. The Daily Mail reports how she has received more than $1.1 million from her mother since 2003, with a massive $250,000 earned within the 2020 election period alone.
63-year-old Karen Waters allegedly provides the campaign with slate-mailing operations, which is highly unusual given that most federal election campaigns use a consulting firm to create leaflets instead.
Is she really working for her mother? Or is this just a handout?
