Lincoln Project Head George Conway Says Trump Should Be Tried

(JustPatriots.com)- George Conway made the incomprehensibly stupid claim that former President Donald Trump should be tried for sedition, citing the former president’s efforts to ensure election integrity and protect American elections from misconduct and fraud.

The notorious Trump-hating commentator made the bizarre claim during an episode of Morning Joe on Friday. He appeared to be making reference to the sedition charges made against 11 members of the “Oath Keepers” group who took part in the January 6 riot in Washington, D.C., last year.

During the opening few minutes of the show, Conway read out the sseditious conspiracy statute, attempting to lay the groundwork of why Trump should be charged with sedition.

“‘If two or more persons conspire to overthrow, put down, or destroy by force or events the government of the United States, or by force to prevent, hinder or delay the execution of any law of the United States or by a force to seize or take any property’ like the capitol…It fits like a glove,” he said.

The problem? Donald Trump doesn’t fit the bill. To be charged with sedition, Trump would need to have tried to overthrow the government of the United States, or hinder or delay the execution of any law of the United States by force.

It doesn’t fit like a glove, because Trump did none of this. On January 6, Trump was President of the United States. Not only that, but Trump called on protesters to remain peaceful at all times – even telling the violent rioters to go home.

Among those violent rioters were far-left and far-right activists, as well as a number of left-wing journalists who also chose to enter the Capitol Building.

It’s painful to watch, and it makes you wonder…do these people really believe that President Donald Trump tried to overthrow the government and throw democracy out of the window?

Do these Democrats not see the importance of maintaining the integrity of the vote?
