Lawmaker Says Dianne Feinstein Tragedy “Painful To Watch”

Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) urged Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) to step down so that she might be replaced after news outlets reported that the nearly 90-year-old lawmaker appeared disoriented and befuddled.

Khanna wanted to remind the people that he admired Feinstein’s career. He said her career has been remarkable, but now it’s horrible for her coworkers to witness and for anybody to see. He hopes people closest to her can simply say it’s time to terminate your duty “with dignity.”

He said it is “painfully evident to everybody” that Feinstein is unqualified for her position and painful to watch.

The lawmaker said that Feinstein is like the athlete who stays a few seasons too many.

Khanna said he doesn’t think they should be harsh about it; instead, he believes they should have a heartfelt discussion about how the time has come.

According to reports, Feinstein “seemed disoriented” upon her return to the Capitol and claimed her weakness resulted from complications from shingles in February, some of which she has not publicly disclosed.”

Feinstein returned to the Senate after a three-month sabbatical and tried to act as if she hadn’t missed a beat. According to reports, Feinstein told the reporter that she’s been in chambers and voting.

She hasn’t.

According to reports, Feinstein’s health has been declining for years, and in 2021, she made an embarrassing mistake when she mistook Republican Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina for Democratic Senator Raphael Warnock of Georgia.

The website Politico reported on Thursday that former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), who supposedly wants to take Feinstein’s seat in 2024, were behind Feinstein’s unwillingness to quit. Schiff has self-serving ulterior motives.

If Feinstein were to cave and retire early, Governor Newsom pledged to appoint a Black woman to serve her term. Barbara Lee would most likely get the appointment, making her the incumbent when Schiff would square off with her in a senate race.

That is typical Schiff.
