(JustPatriots.com)- On Wednesday, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) stated that he plans to release all of the hundreds of hours of CCTV video from the United States Capitol beginning on January 6, 2021.
McCarthy, in the spirit of openness as speaker of the House, gave Carlson access to a number of these recordings. McCarthy declared that Carlson had only the first taste and that the tapes will be made available to the public in the following weeks once vital security information was redacted.
The Tucker Carlson broadcast of the videos revealed protestors posing for photos and lined up inside the Capitol on January 6, as well as a film of Capitol Police officers chatting for long periods with the now-famous “QAnon Shaman,” Jacob Chansley.
The video Carlson displayed disproved several of the claims made by the January 6 select committee in the past Congress and by many in the mainstream media. Carlson presented convincing evidence refuting the January 6 committee’s bogus assertions that Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) had provided a tour of the Capitol to rioters the day before.
Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS), the former chairman of the now-defunct January 6 committee, shocked the media this week by admitting that he and his fellow committee members were never given access to the surveillance tape.
McCarthy said he had not viewed all the videos yet, but he still criticized the committee for being biased. He claimed that any of the accused should be allowed to utilize any of the videos in their defense and supported Loudermilk against the false charges he has suffered.
McCarthy has said that he does not know whether the recordings would impact the trials or convictions of any of the January 6 suspects, but he has claimed that anybody who has been detained pending trial should have access to the records.
