(JustPatriots.com)- The Democrats and the media didn’t hold a “commemoration” of the January 6 riot. It was a day-long campaign rally to promote their unconstitutional legislation to federalize election laws.
Sure, it was also geared toward painting their political opponents as domestic terrorists, but that was just incidental. The true purpose of Thursday’s Kabuki theater was to exploit a year-old 3-hour riot to peddle the Democrats’ latest power-grab.
The odious Kamala Harris whom Joe Biden supposedly put in charge of getting the unconstitutional election law overhaul passed didn’t beat about the bush. In her brief, histrionic campaign speech on January 6, Harris concluded by explaining “Let’s be clear: We must pass the voting rights bills that are now before the Senate.”
The point of Kamala’s brief speech was to argue that, to prevent these domestic terrorists from launching another “Insurrection” to “overthrow our democracy,” the Federal Government has to seize control of the States’ constitutional authority to determine their own elections.
As Rahm Emmanuel famously said, “Never let a crisis go to waste.”
The January 6 Kabuki theater was just that. Using the three-hour riot from a year ago as a justification to force through unconstitutional legislation to strip away all safeguards to elections and guarantee Democrats never lose again.
It’s cynical and deeply dishonest.
But this is the Democrat Party. Cynical and deeply dishonest is what they do.
The problem they have with this absurd ploy is Americans don’t care about a 3-hour riot from a year ago. They care about gas prices, grocery bills, heating bills, and persistent inflation. They care about their children being able to go to school.
What’s more, the vast majority of Americans want safeguards to ensure our elections are on the up-and-up, most notably requiring ID to vote. But this garbage bill the Democrats want to kill the filibuster to pass would strip every state of its voter ID laws.
Democrats have another problem: they aren’t particularly subtle.
Their decision to use the occasion of the anniversary of January 6 to campaign for their unconstitutional election power-grab was transparently obvious from the start.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell called them out from the Senate floor the day before their day-long campaign rally. He hammered his Democrat colleagues for exploiting January 6 “to advance partisan policy goals,” and noted that the Democrats were invoking a mob’s attempt to “disrupt our country’s norms” as a “justification to discard our norms, rules, and institutions themselves.”
