(JustPatriots.com)- After President Joe Biden tasked Vice President Kamala Harris with dealing with the southern border crisis last month, no official trips or announcements have been made whatsoever.
Harris is drawing increasing criticism after going 27 whole days without taking any action whatsoever, despite the number of illegal aliens being apprehended at the southern border rising dramatically every month. In March, the number of aliens apprehended by border agents reached 170,000, and the number of people who have successfully entered the country is believed to be in the tens of thousands.
Vice President Harris recently laughed when she was asked about her plans to travel to the border.
During a visit to Jacksonville, Florida, a journalist asked the vice president if she planned to travel south to see the crisis for herself.
“Do you have any plans to visit the border?” she was asked, to which she responded by laughing and saying, “Not today. But I have before and I’m sure I will again.”
That was last month. She still hasn’t gone.
President Joe Biden also recently admitted that the problem has become a “crisis,” though it was not immediately clear whether he intended to. Until the weekend, the president had refused to admit the situation was a crisis and White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki had done the same.
“The president does not feel that children coming to our border seeking refuge from violence, economic hardships, and other dire circumstances is a crisis,” Psaki said during a recent press conference.
But during a discussion with journalists about increasing the cap on refugees admitted to the United States, the president slipped up.
“We’re going to increase the number [of refugees allowed into the country],” Biden told journalists as he traveled home after a game of golf. “The problem was that the refugee part was working on the crisis that ended up on the border with young people.”
That’s what happens when he doesn’t have a teleprompter in front of him…
The president appeared to be suggesting that border officials couldn’t handle the influx of migrant children as well as refugees, but he committed once again this week that he would be raising the 15,000 annual cap implemented by the Trump administration by May 15 – but has yet to reveal the exact number.
