Record Meth Bust at Texas Border

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers achieved a significant drug interception at the Pharr International Bridge in Texas. Their vigilance led to the discovery of $31,169,000 worth of methamphetamine concealed within a shipment of serrano peppers. This colossal haul weighed in at a remarkable 2,155.02 pounds (977.50 kg).

The method of inspection played a crucial part in busting the smuggling attempt. The sophisticated non-intrusive inspection equipment at the port enabled CBP officers to effectively detect the contraband without the need for invasive measures. Officers found a total of 1,859 packages of methamphetamine cleverly hidden amongst the legitimate cargo.

Vigilance and Advanced Techniques

Preventing such large-scale smuggling operations is a testament to the vigilance and expertise of CBP officers – not that the Democrats care about that.

Port Director Carlos Rodriguez emphasized this commitment, stating, “Our CBP officers continue to remain vigilant and intercepted this massive methamphetamine load, preventing it from reaching American streets,” Rodriguez said.

This interception does not just showcase the advancements at the border but also highlights the persistent ingenuity of smugglers. Homeland Security Investigations has taken a significant interest in the case, initiating a criminal investigation to dissect and dismantle the operational network behind the illegal transit.
