(JustPatriots.com)- Former New York City Mayor and head of the president’s legal team Rudy Giuliani explained on Monday why he had parted ways with Texas attorney Sidney Powell. Speaking to Lou Dobbs on Fox, he explained how the former Michael Flynn attorney was pursuing a different angle to the official Trump campaign legal team.
Last week, the Trump campaign issued a statement explaining that Powell was not an official representative of the campaign. It came after Powell appeared at a press conference with Trump lawyers Giuliani and Jenna Ellis. During the press conference, Powell explained how she believed that the Dominion voting machines were compromised, while Giuliani detailed a legal case based on technical legal issues relating to the election.
Powell released a statement agreeing with the statement, and said that she will continue to represent the American people who “had their votes for Trump and other Republicans stolen by massive fraud through Dominion and Smartmatic.”

She said that she would be filing a suit soon and that the “chips will fall where they may,” suggesting she could be going after both Republican and Democrat candidates that she has theorized used a fraudulent ballot counting system to cheat election.
When Lou Dobbs asked Giuliani about the reasoning for the split, he said that it was because they were “pursuing two different theories.”
“Our theory of the case to get to the Supreme Court…is basically misconduct of the election by state officials in at least five or six different states, in which the misconduct of the election involved deprivation of Constitutional rights for the president,” he added.
Giuliani discussed the issue of ballot “curing” – a process that allows people to fix errors on their ballot after casting their vote to ensure it can be counted. The Trump lawyer explained how some parts of the state allowed it, while others didn’t. He also referenced how 680,000 mail-in ballots were counted in Pennsylvania while Republican ballot watchers were not given an opportunity to watch and ensure that they were legitimate ballots.
While some outlets have reported that the president and his legal team have “disavowed” Powell, that doesn’t appear to be the case.
As it stands, Giuliani and Powell are pursuing completely different angles – and, if it came to it, Powell’s separation from the Trump campaign would leave her free to pursue criminal rather than civil charges.
