(JustPatriots.com)- Florida Governor Ron DeSantis slammed failed presidential candidate and billionaire media mogul Michael Bloomberg this week over his plans to pay the fines of black felons. It comes after reports suggested Bloomberg was paying for felons in Florida to pay off their fines, giving them the right to vote in the November 3 presidential election.
Bloomberg, who has a personal vendetta against President Donald Trump, was reported to have raised as much as $16 million to pay for thousands of fines for Hispanic and Bllack American felons. The billionaire faced a furious reaction as many noted that his actions could technically be considered bribery.
The plan was egregious that Florida’s Attorney General Ashley Moody quickly announced that her office was investigating the donations from Bloomberg and others and that the case had been referred to the FBI for further investigation. Vote selling is illegal in Florida.
During an interview with Breitbart News on SiriusXM Patriot, Florida’s Republican Governor Ron DeSantis also brought up the topic of racial discrimination.
“So what [Bloomberg] wants to do is pay off the fines that the felons owe, but he’s only doing it, he’s basically discrimination on the basis of race, he will not do white felons,” DeSantis explained.
Reports suggested early on that the plan was to pay for the fines of only Black and Hispanic felons as they were considered the most likely to vote for Joe Biden and the Democrats in the upcoming election. And, with Florida a key swing state at this point, it could help determine the results of the election.
Bloomberg’s plan to pay for only Black and Hispanic felons not only shows he’s willing to discriminate based on race but that he might be engaged in vote-buying. If his intention is to only pay for the fines of people who are more likely to vote for Joe Biden, it adds weight to the case against him.
“He’s trying to focus on African American felons, and so I think people in his orbit were saying, ‘Yeah we think they’ll vote for Biden if we do it.’ And actually, I’m not someone that believes in automatic felon voting. The voters passed it so we implemented it, but politically I actually think Trump would win the felon vote,” DeSantis added.
If that’s true, it could throw a real spanner in the works.
“The attorney general of Florida, once she saw that, she said, ‘Wait a minute, Florida law, you’re not allowed to give anything of value to entice a vote.’ So she’s investigating,” Governor DeSantis added.
What do you think…will Bloomberg just get away with this one?
