(JustPatriots.com)- In response to the Department of Agriculture’s announcement that it would require certain schools to allow trans students to use the bathroom of their preferred gender, the head of a conservative advocacy group claimed that the Biden administration is using lunch money to hold school districts hostage.
USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) requires schools that receive funding to prohibit discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation. It said discrimination claims must be investigated.
Fight for Schools Executive Director Ian Prior told Fox News that the Biden administration says, “You’ll do what I want, or I’ll take your lunch money.”
Prior said that tying school nutrition and lunch programs to radical ideology is terrifying and appalling. The Biden administration holds states and local school districts hostage with school lunch money for underprivileged youth.
FNS manages WIC and SNAP (SNAP). It also runs the National School Lunch Program, which fed nearly 30 million kids per day before COVID-19.
The USDA’s announcement is part of President Biden’s executive order extending Title IX to include sexual orientation and gender identity.
The order states that children should be able to learn without worrying about restroom, locker room, or school sports access.
Prior says that he’s not sure how school lunches relate to transgender policies. The Biden administration uses children as pawns in a social justice/gender ideology game.
In a bit of twisted logic, the USDA has said that free and reduced National School Lunch Program meals help poor students eat. The LGBTQ community has “faced striking economic and social disparities.” Transgender people are more likely to be malnourished than cisgender people.
Prior said low-income students would suffer if schools lost funding, but the USDA didn’t say what would happen if they didn’t comply.
Prior said that they discuss equity nonstop in the Biden administration. If you want equity or equal opportunity, make sure every child succeeds. Make sure they’re fed.
Prior called the USDA’s action a “vast overreach” and said they’re trying to take over school systems nationwide based on radical gender ideology.
This month, the USDA will propose the rule. After public comment, it will be implemented.
Prior says the Biden administration’s actions will face legal challenges.
“They’ll be in court for years, maybe until Biden’s term ends.”
