(JustPatriots.com)- At a press conference last week, progressive pro-life groups accused the Department of Justice and the DC Metropolitan Police Department of having no interest in investigating a DC abortion clinic run by a doctor who is being compared to the notorious mass-murdering abortionist, Kermit Gosnell.
Pro-life advocates had recovered a box allegedly containing over a hundred pulverized first-trimester that was being sent from the Washington Surgi-Clinic to Curtis Bay Medical Waste Facility. The activists have routinely recovered such remains to give the fetuses a proper funeral. But this particular box contained the remains of five third-trimester fetuses.
According to Mary Margaret Olohan at the Daily Wire, no DC officials appear interested in investigating why these third-trimester fetuses were among the remains found in the box. Instead, the only thing DC officials seem interested in is whether the pro-life activists who discovered the remains committed a crime when they took the box from a dolly outside of the clinic.
The Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising (PAAU) told Olohan that they gained the permission of the Curtis Bay driver to take the box “to give the babies a proper funeral.” The driver said they could have the box as he already scanned it into the system.
Last week, Republican lawmakers called on both DC Mayor Muriel Bowser and the Department of Justice to investigate the abortions of the five third-trimester babies and preserve their remains as evidence and conduct an autopsy.
But DC officials remain silent.
In their press conference last week, PAAU executive director Terrisa Bukovinac and PAAU’s director of activism Lauren Handy accused DC officials of long protecting the Washington Surgi-Center and its only doctor, Dr. Cesare Santangelo.
Terrisa Bukovinac questioned the DC Medical Examiner’s claim that the five third-trimester fetuses were “lawfully aborted,” and called for “thorough autopsies” to determine if their deaths violated the Born Alive Infant Protection Act.
Other activists at the press conference denounced the mainstream pro-life movement over what they claimed is a strategy to “stay quiet and not offend anyone.” Jonathan Darnel of GetSeriousChurch.com said the mainstream pro-life movement has “made cowards out of the rest of us for decades.”
