Epstein And Banker Exchanged Over A Thousand Emails

(JustPatriots.com)- Just two weeks after Barclays chief executive Jes Staley was forced to resign after an investigation into his ties to suspected sex-trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, a trove of 1,200 emails between Staley and Epstein were uncovered.

The emails, which span four years from 2008 to 2012 during Staley’s time at the Wall Street bank JP Morgan.

According to the Financial Times, sources familiar with the contents of the emails say they reveal a close relationship between Epstein and Staley. While most of the emails were innocuous – arranging to meet for drinks or discussing news articles – some contained certain terms that were puzzling.

In one two-message exchange that referred to an in-person conversation, the term “snow white” is used. Though city regulators with the Prudential Regulation Authority and the Financial Conduct Authority have no idea what that term refers to.

In a legal letter sent to the Financial Times, Kathleen Harris, an attorney representing Staley reasserted that Staley was not involved in any of the “alleged crimes committed by Mr. Epstein.” Harris added that no codewords were ever used by Staley in any of his email communications with Epstein.

According to Barclays, the investigation by the Prudential Regulation Authority and the Financial Conduct Authority did not determine that Staley was aware of Epstein’s alleged crimes which is why Barclays continued to support Staley after Epstein’s 2019 arrest.

Staley’s relationship with Epstein began in 2000 when he was hired to lead JP Morgan’s private bank which handles the companies’ wealthy clients. They remained in contact for seven years after Epstein was convicted of soliciting prostitution from a minor in 2008. Staley even visited Epstein in Florida while he was serving his sentence and while he was on work release in 2009.

Even after Staley left JP Morgan, he and Epstein remained in contact. But Staley claims their contact tapered off after he left Wall Street. Staley said the last time the two men met in person was in 2015 when Staley sailed his yacht to Epstein’s private Caribbean island.

After Epstein was arrested in 2019 and the media again drew attention to their friendship, Staley volunteered to explain his ties to Epstein to Barclays. In December of that year, the regulatory investigation by the Prudential Regulation Authority and the Financial Conduct Authority was launched.
