(JustPatriots.com)- Polling out of Pennsylvania in the last week has taken an unexpected turn, as the Republican Senate primary now appears to be a 3-way dead-heat.
The latest Fox News poll from Tuesday shows a virtual three-way tie between Trump-endorsed TV personality Dr. Mehmet Oz, Dave McCormick, and come-from-behind challenger, Kathy Barnette.
The Fox poll showed Dr. Oz with a tiny lead at 22 percent, McCormick in second place with 20 percent, and Barnette a close third with 19 percent. But with a 3-point margin of error, this is pretty much a 3-way tie.
Fox’s poll is in line with Monday’s Trafalgar Group poll which also showed the three in a statistical tie, with Oz at 25 percent, Barnette at 23 percent, and McCormick at 22 percent.
According to the Fox poll, 18 percent of Republican voters remain undecided with the primary just days away.
Kathy Barnette’s sudden jump in the polls has rattled the Oz campaign.
On Wednesday night, Oz appeared on his benefactor Sean Hannity’s show on Fox News to attack Barnette. Meanwhile, groups tied to both Oz and McCormick’s campaigns have begun zeroing in on the come-from-behind Barnette to try and break her momentum.
There is no question that Pennsylvania Republicans have expressed doubt about Dr. Oz, whom former President Trump endorsed in the primary. Even Pennsylvania Trump voters have expressed frustration over Trump’s decision to endorse the New Jersey resident and TV personality.
And with voters dissatisfied with both Dr. Oz and Dave McCormick, it is unsurprising that Pennsylvania voters decided to take a fresh look at someone else.
Given the close polling, next Tuesday’s primary is up for grabs.
According to the Fox poll, over half of those surveyed said they still might change their minds before next Tuesday’s vote.
