(JustPatriots.com)- Over the Memorial Day weekend, it was learned that Dr. Anthony Fauci would be releasing a new memoir “Expect the Unexpected” sometime in November. Prepublication sales became available on both Amazon and Barnes & Noble on June 1.
According to the book description, “Expect the Unexpected” would offer “inspiration” in Fauci’s “unique perspective” on “leadership, expecting the unexpected, and finding joy in difficult times.”
But the news of Fauci’s book was met with scathing criticism – much of it making comparisons to the book debacle surrounding embattled New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.
Like Cuomo, Fauci landing a book deal was viewed as profiting off of the COVID-19 pandemic. Critics believe it especially tone-deaf given the economic hardship Americans suffered over the very lockdowns Anthony Fauci endorsed.
According to the publisher National Geographic Books, the book is being published in tandem with a National Geographic Documentary film about Fauci. And Fauci will receive no royalties from its publication.
According to the detail accompanying the book, “Expect the Unexpected” would give readers “inspiring words of wisdom” and offer “a concrete path to a bright and hopeful future.”
It better be pretty inspirational to make up for the $18.00 price and the mere 80 pages of content.
But Fauci’s “bright and hopeful future” might have to wait.
Unfortunately for Anthony Fauci, the “Unexpected” happened.
Shortly after the announcement of the book, Buzzfeed published over 3,000 pages of Anthony Fauci’s emails obtained through the Freedom of Information Act.
Within no time revealing tidbits began to dribble out that showed Fauci in a not-so-inspirational light. By Wednesday June 2, members of Congress were demanding investigations into Fauci’s involvement with gain of function research as well as the his role with the Wuhan Institute of Virology. By day’s end, Senators and Representatives alike were demanding that Fauci be fired.
By late afternoon, the page for prepublication sales of “Expect the Unexpected” was “unexpectedly” removed both at Amazon and at Barnes & Noble.
Naturally, some are assuming the two incidents are related. However, the publisher denies the massive email scandal had anything to do with the disappearance of the prepublication sales pages.
In explaining the book’s sudden disappearance, National Geographic Books told the UK Daily Mail that the prepublication pages were posted “prematurely” and that’s why they both were removed.
