Donald Trump Says Capitol Feds Abandoned Capitol Like They Did US Troops In Afghanistan

( In a statement issued by his Save America PAC, former President Donald Trump said that the ultra-partisan January 6 Committee established by far-left House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is only a “sideshow” to distract the American people from the “massive failures by Biden and the Democrats.”

Trump added that what happened at the Capitol Building on January 6 wouldn’t have happened if the Capitol Police hadn’t failed at doing their job and had just “looked at the intelligence.” He appeared to be responding to claims by whistleblowers that the Capitol Police chose to take a step back on the day of the Washington, D.C. riot and make it easier for people to cause trouble and incite unrest.

The former president said that the Capitol Police and other authorities “abandoned the officers on the ground” in the same way that President Joe Biden “abandoned Americans in Afghanistan.”

Instead of holding the bad leaders responsible, he added, the Democrats are just trying to go after innocent staffers and are attacking the United States Constitution.

It comes after Trump administration aides and officials were subpoenaed by the ultra-partisan committee, and told they must appear to answer questions and hand over a significant number of documents. The former president’s lawyers told these aides, including Kash Patel, Mark Meadows, and Steve Bannon, not to comply with the subpoenas citing Executive Privilege.

It means that, legally, the aides are not required to provide sensitive information from the former president’s office – though they are still likely to face serious efforts by the Democrats to hold them in criminal contempt for refusing to do so.

Kash Patel and Mark Meadows are reportedly already complying with the subpoenas, but former Trump advisor Steve Bannon has refused.
