(JustPatriots.com)- This week’s Republican primary results show that former President Donald Trump’s clout in the party hasn’t waned.
Trump-backed candidates had strong showings in the GOP primaries in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Ohio, indicating that the former president is still the overwhelming favorite to lead the national ticket in 2024.
Sen. Kevin Cramer, R-North Dakota, said that he thinks he’s the clear front-runner for the nomination, and if he decides to run for the Republican nomination in 2024, there’s no doubt in my mind that he will become the nominee.
Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, the GOP presidential nominee in 2012, agreed.
He said that Trump has a significant impact on state races, and he’ll win some and lose some, but people will undoubtedly want his endorsement if they can get it.
On Wednesday, Trump praised his 85-3 endorsement record on Truth Social. He has endorsed candidates in crucial gubernatorial, Senate, and House primaries.
According to lawmakers, the former president’s influence was strongest in the primaries in Pennsylvania and Ohio.
Before Trump’s endorsement, Mehmet Oz was trailing David McCormick in polls by an average of 6 points. With mail-in ballots still to be counted and a likely recount looming, Oz led by 1,241 votes.
Cramer stated that Trump is still the most significant person of influence in the party. If Dr. Oz pulls it out, it was significant what he did in Pennsylvania. Donald Trump deserves enormous credit. He still has a lot of clout among Republican primary voters and activists.
J.D. Vance, who was in third place in the polls at the time, was also endorsed by Trump. With 32 percent of the vote, Vance won the May 3 primary.
Ted Cruz, R-Texas, said that Trump’s endorsement was decisive in Ohio. It made a difference. He said it boosted Dr. Oz’s numbers in Pennsylvania. President Trump continues to command respect and admiration of many Americans, so when he makes an endorsement, it’s taken seriously.
Cramer went on to say that Trump’s endorsements will help him if he runs for president again.
