(JustPatriots.com)- The news that Chris Wallace will be hosting a show on CNN every Sunday at 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time has been confirmed.
According to a CNN spokesperson, CNN Worldwide Chairman and CEO Chris Licht announced an internal town hall on Thursday morning.
It was only in May when it was announced that the newly merged parent company of CNN, Warner Bros. Discovery, was expected to launch Wallace’s weekly program, “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?,” to air on the network Sundays and HBO Max.
The former anchor of Fox News Sunday signed a multi-million dollar contract with the network in which he agreed to present the show four times a week on the network’s streaming platform CNN+, which has since been discontinued. On April 30, the platform’s operations were terminated, precisely one month after it had first gone live on March 29.
During an appearance on the show “Finding Common Ground” on April 25, Wallace stated that he was “in good form.” The host of CNN voiced concern for the other employees working at CNN+ after learning that Warner Bros. Discovery had purportedly let go of 300 junior staff members simultaneously as they stopped investing in and projecting revenue from the platform.
During the interview, he stated, “Frankly, what I’m most concerned about right now – and very – is my team and hundreds of other people because, you know, there were 300 people, I think, that had jobs at CNN+, and some of them had left CNN to go to streaming, and some of them had left other places, moved across the country.”
After 18 years of hosting “Fox News Sunday,” Wallace signed a contract with CNN in December and decided to leave Fox News. Later, he revealed that working at his previous network had become “unsustainable” in the wake of the presidential election of 2020. It was too much to bear when people were questioning the legitimacy of the election and debating whether or not the riot on January 6 qualified as an uprising. He had to run or wail into a towel to muffle his screams.
Wallace was never comfortable at Fox. Trying to hide his disdain for conservatives while collecting a paycheck from them was taxing. He was the straight Shep Smith, occassionally taking a potshot at the left to continue his ruse.
CNN is his natural habitat.
