CNN Guest On Trump FBI Raid: “You Have Martyred Donald Trump”

( “If you come at the king, you’d best not miss” comes to mind in the aftermath of yesterday’s FBI raid on Donald Trump’s Palm Beach residence, ostensibly related to an inquiry into whether or not he transported sensitive materials from the White House to Mar-a-Lago.

On Monday night, a guest on CNN said that the FBI search of Mar-a-Lago may turn former President Donald Trump into a “martyr.”

Scott Jennings, a former adviser in the administration of George W. Bush, told the guest presenter of “Anderson Cooper 360,” John Berman, that if you don’t convict Donald Trump today, you have “martyred Donald Trump.”

Jennings said they have guaranteed him the nomination for the Republican Party in 2024, and they are going to give him a big weapon to go after Joe Biden, or whatever Democrat emerges in 2024, if they don’t convict him, they have basically “guaranteed him the nomination for the Republican Party in 2024.”

“I mean, they’ve raided the guy’s house,” Jennings said, referring to the authorities. When you break into someone’s home, there is no way to make up for what you’ve done. This situation is hopeless. And so, because of the political ramifications, I’m eager to hear exactly what the White House knew about what was going on.

According to The New York Times, the FBI raid entailed the seizure of sensitive papers that Donald Trump reportedly removed from the White House before he left office in January 2021. Many Republicans, including House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, referred to the raid as an “abuse of authority.”

Jennings remarked, “I need to know if Joe Biden was aware of it.” “To tell you the truth, given the implications of this, former president, probable candidate, I think the current president ought to say whether he knew about it in advance from the attorney general because I think a lot of Americans — a lot of Republicans are going to want to know the answer to that question.”

An official from the White House stated, “We did not have notification of the alleged action and would recommend you to the Justice Department for any more information.”
