(JustPatriots.com)- According to the National Pulse, the man tapped to serve as Special Assistant to the President for National Security Agency personnel was once a visiting scholar at a Communist Chinese Party-affiliated think-tank labeled by the FBI as a front group for Chinese intelligence collection and overseas spy recruitment.
Thomas Zimmerman, while working at NYU’s Center on International Cooperation, served as a fellow at the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences.
In the recent espionage case against retired CIA officer Kevin Patrick Mallory, court records note that while the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences bills itself as second largest academic and comprehensive research center in the fields of social sciences in philosophy in China, it is, in reality, closely aligned with Beijing’s top spy agency, the Ministry of State Security. SASS has been used as a “front group for Chinese intelligence collection and overseas spy recruitment,” the FBI said.
The FBI believes senior Chinese officials use SASS to provide “cover identities,” as well as using SASS employees as “spotters and assessors” of potential spies.
Mallory was sentenced to twenty years in prison for selling classified US defense documents to the Communist Chinese in 2017. According to federal investigators, Mallory had been recruited by a Chinese national who worked for the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences.
The Biden Administration tapping someone with links to this CCP front group to work in the White House is troubling. But tapping someone like that to serve in the National Security Agency is downright terrifying.
Why not just teleconference in President Xi directly?
Zimmerman isn’t a newbie in the Federal Government. Like most of the Biden Administration, he is an Obama Administration alum. After working on Obama’s 2008 Presidential campaign, Zimmerman first joined the Pakistan desk at the Defense Department, then moved to the White House where he served as Special Assistant to the National Security Advisor.
Zimmerman worked as Deputy Lead for National Security Policy with the Biden/Harris Transition team. Then on December 30, 2020 Joe Biden appointed Zimmerman to his current post as Special Assistant to the President for National Security Agency personnel where he earns an annual salary of $110,000.
