(PatrioticPost.Com)- China’s mishandling of the coronavirus outbreak, their refusal to release real figures on infection and their attempts to hide human-to-human transmission has resulted in an incredible 22 million American jobs lost in the last four weeks.
Data from the U.S. Labor Department shows that new unemployment benefit applications in the week ending April 11 reached 5.245 million – beyond the 5 million prediction by several major economists. The week prior saw some 6.615 million application, 6.9 million the week before, and 3.3 million the week before that. The total number in the last month is now 22 million, the biggest job loss numbers since the Great Depression.
Studies have shown that if the communist Chinese government had been honest about the virus and taken action three weeks sooner, the virus may have been contained in the country and its spread reduced by some 95%. Owing to failings by the Chinese Communist Party and the World Health Organization, however, the virus is now spreading uncontrollably across the United States (and much of the rest of the world,) destroying jobs and economies in its path.
According to the latest data, some 12 million Americans were granted unemployment payments in the week ending April 4, a historic high. It was an increase of almost 5 million the week prior. The numbers don’t seem to show any sign of slowing down, either. The longer the United States remains in lockdown, and the longer businesses cannot trade, the more people will be laid off.
President Donald Trump and members of Congress recently passed the CARES Act, which is designed to reduce the financial impact of the coronavirus. However, it is far from perfect. This week people across the country received a one-off payment of $1,200 to help pay bills, though the system was not rolled out perfectly and millions are still waiting for payments.
The terrifying thing is that the numbers might even be higher than we think. Applications across the country have been hindered by failing websites, bogged down with too much traffic, and long waiting times over the phone. Each week, the numbers shop applications from people who lost their job days and weeks prior.
Imagine how different 2020 would be if the Chinese had reported data about the virus accurately from the start?
