Biden Promises To Make Abortion “LAW OF THE LAND,” Reverses Previous Pro-Life Beliefs

(JustPatriots.com) – Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden showed that he is willing to abandon principles to appeal to his left-wing base on Monday when he committed to making abortion law of the land if the Supreme Court were ever to overturn Roe v. Wade.

During an NBC town hall event on Monday, which featured Biden supporters that NBC described as “undecided voters,” Biden said that he was concerned about the “reproductive rights” of American women if the Senate confirms Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court.

It was a significant reversal on his previous claims of being a “pro-life Democrat.” Remember those days?

Biden was asked by a woman named Cassidy Brown if he believes that Amy Coney Barrett would overturn “women’s reproductive rights.”

“Number one, we don’t know exactly what [Judge Barrett’ will do,” Biden said. “Although the expectation is that she may very well move to overrule Roe, and what the only thing, the only responsible response to that would be to pass legislation making Roe the law of the land. That’s what I would do.”

So…overturn the literal interpretation of the Constitution by judges appointed to interpret the Constitution? Interesting.

Biden made the claim, but he didn’t offer much in the way of detail. Which isn’t exactly uncommon for the Biden campaign.

Not only would the overturning of Roe v. Wade mean that access to abortion would no longer be a Constitutional right, but it’s not even clear that it would be overturned in the first place. If it were, however, then passing a law to make something universally accessible as if it were a Constitutional right, despite hypothetically not being deemed a Constitutional right by the Supreme Court, would be extremely difficult. Or impossible.

What’s more, Biden failed to recognize that even if the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, there is no reason to believe that the Supreme Courts of individual states would not see things differently, or that state legislatures would not legalize abortion anyway. The worst possible scenario for the “pro-choice” crowd would be that abortion would be legal in some states and not in others.
