(JustPatriots.com)- An analyst for MSNBC is now gaining a position at the White House, after President Joe Biden announced that he would appoint Jeremy Bash as a member of the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board.
This isn’t Bash’s first foray into federal government service, though. He served as the chief of staff at both the Department of Defense and the CIA during the Obama administration. So, at least he does have some real-world political experience.
At the same time, though, he has made a name for himself recently for his ultra-liberal views, specifically claims that the Hunter Biden laptop scandal was all just disinformation coming out of Russia.
In 2020, Bash was one of a few different officials in the intelligence community who penned a letter that said they believed Biden’s laptop scandal had “the classic earmarks of a Russian information,” according to Fox News.
Despite him taking this stance, he was somehow still given a position of power within the Biden administration — and specifically for intelligence matters. In making the announcement that Bash would be appointed to the board, the White House focused on the previous awards he’s received, as well as the different roles and positions he’s held in the intelligence community and on Capitol Hill.
Some of those awards include the Department of Defense Distinguished Public Service Medal, the CIA Director’s Award, the Clandestine Service’s Donovan Award and the Distinguished Intelligence Medal.
In a statement, the White House commented:
“[The board] exists exclusively to assist the president by providing the president with an independent source of advice on the effectiveness with which the intelligence community is meeting the nation’s intelligence needs.”
The problem with this, though, is that Bash has already proven in recent years to be very partisan, and outlandish with his claims — even though the Hunter Biden laptop scandal was indeed verified by authorities.
Leading up to the 2020 presidential election, more than 50 officials within the intelligence community, including Bash, said they were “deeply suspicious” that Russia was involved in the fact that the laptop saw the light of day to begin with.
As their letter stated:
“There are a number of factors that make us suspicious of Russian involvement … Perhaps most important, each of us believes deeply that American citizens should determine the outcome of elections, not foreign governments. All of us agree with the founding fathers’ concern about the damage that foreign interference in our policies can do to our democracy.”
The letter included a lot of rhetoric, but didn’t include any evidence to back up their thoughts. They just said that they all used the experience they had with national security to come to their conclusions. As the letter reads:
“We want to emphasize that we do not know if the emails, providing to the New York Post by President Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, are genuine or not and that we do not have evidence of Russian involvement — just that our experience makes us deeply suspicious that the Russian government played a significant role in this case.”
