(JustPatriots.com)- David Chipman, President Joe Biden’s nominee to become the new head of the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, appeared before a Senate panel hearing on Wednesday to be questioned by senators over his position on various policy areas.
And during the hearing, Chipman confirmed that he supports the banning of AR-15 guns – a major proposed infringement on American’s Second Amendment Rights, and something that is likely to draw a huge amount of opposition from Republicans and potentially a handful of Democrats in the Senate who represent southern states.
Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz asked Chipman about his position on AR-15s, which are arguably the most popular gun in America.
“With respect to the AR-15, I support a ban as has been presented in a Senate bill and support by the president,” he said.
And there you have it. President Joe Biden very much will infringe on American’s Second Amendment rights despite repeatedly insisting during his campaign that he wouldn’t.
President Joe Biden has repeatedly pushed members of Congress to pass new legislation that would ban the sale of AR-15s, or “assault weapons” as the Democrats call them, and end what the Democrats claim are “loopholes” in background checks. Biden shamelessly used the tragic shooting in a Boulder, Colorado grocery store back in March to advance the new agenda. The tragedy resulted in the death of 10 people.
Chipman said that the AR-15 is a “particularly lethal weapon” and that he has advocated for regulating it. He also confirmed that if he is confirmed as the new ATF director, he would “simply enforce the laws on the books.”
Chipman previously worked as a special agent for the ATF for over 25 years.
