AOC Slammed After Sharing Photos About Grandma

( In an effort to accuse Donald Trump of malfeasance after Hurricane Maria slammed into Puerto Rico in 2018, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez decided to use her own grandmother as a prope.

Ocasio-Cortez shared a series of pictures on Twitter purportedly showing the sorry state of her “abuela’s” Puerto Rico home.

Tweeting that her “abuela fell ill” the week before, Ocasio-Cortez said she traveled to Puerto Rico to visit her. And in describing the pictures she posted Ocasio-Cortez added “Hurricane María relief hasn’t arrived. Trump blocked relief $ for PR.”

Within no time, Twitter users criticized Ocasio-Cortez for the tweet.

Many pointed out that, rather than wait for the government to help her “abuela” Ocasio-Cortez should take the lead and give her grandmother the financial assistance she needs. Critics suggested that as a well-paid Congresswoman who can afford to buy a Tesla, there is no reason she couldn’t cough up a little money to help her own blood.

Daily Wire host Matt Walsh posted a screen capture Ocasio-Cortez’s tweet beside a screen-capture of her Tesla adding, “AOC went out and bought herself a Telsa while her grandmother lives in a shack with a collapsing ceiling.” Walsh then called out what he referred to as “champagne socialists” who, while expecting others to sacrifice, won’t make sacrifices themselves.

Walsh also directly replied to Ocasio-Cortez’s tweet calling her “shameful.” In response to Walsh, Ocasio-Cortez went on the defensive — first by playing the “you don’t understand my culture” card then back back-peddling.

Her “abuela is okay” she back-peddled. Then she, of course, portrayed herself as a Fighter for Justice telling Walsh, “instead of only caring for mine & letting others suffer, I’m calling attention to the systemic injustices.”

And, as she commonly does when faced with backlash, the thin-skinned Ocasio-Cortez went on a multi-tweet rampage attacking her critics – accusing them (again) of sexism and calling them “alt-right.”

But Ocasio-Cortez’s claim that the Trump Administration blocked the relief money isn’t precisely true. Back in September 2020 on her Sunday program “Full Measure,” investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson reported that much of the relief money has been hamstrung due to widespread fraud and corruption within Puerto Rico.

Several Puerto Rico government officials have been arrested by the FBI for stealing millions of dollars in federal funds. One Puerto Rican Senator along with seven others were arrested in November 2019 for illegally using the public funds to pay for the Senator’s election campaign.
