(JustPatriots.com)- Amazon just confirmed that they will refuse to sell any books that tell the truth about transgenderism and body dysmorphia, despite the horrific damage being done to children all over the Western world.
The international book publishing and distribution company said that any books that “frame LGBTQ+ identity as a mental illness” will not be published after they removed Ryan T. Anderson’s book “When Harry Became Sally: Responding to the Transgender Moment” from its shelves.
During an interview with the Daily Caller News Foundation, Anderson said that he only learned the reasoning for Amazon’s withdrawal of his book from their digital shelves after a statement was recently offered to The Wall Street Journal.
“We carefully consider the content we make available in our stores, and we review our approach regularly,” Amazon also said in a statement to Republican Senators Mike Lee, Mike Braun, Josh Hawley, and Marco Rubio.
“As described above, we have chosen not to sell books that frame LGBTQ+ identity as a mental illness,” the statement continued.
The statement came in response to a letter signed by the Republican senators on February 24, 2021, asking the company to explain why the book was removed in the first place.
Author Ryan Anderson insists that he has never framed LGBTQ+ identities as mental illnesses, making the Amazon statement particularly curious.
“Nowhere have I ever said or framed LGBTQ+ identity as a mental illness,” he told the Daily Caller News Foundation.
“The phrase ‘mental illness’ does occur in the book twice — but not in my own voice: once quoting a ‘transwoman’ writing in The New York Times, and once quoting the current University Distinguished Service Professor of Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins,” he added.
Anderson’s book also discusses the classification of gender dysphoria by the American Psychiatric Association, which for some reason is still on Amazon.
“Amazon, curiously, still sells that,” he said. “Gender dysphoria is listed in the most widely respected and consulted book on psychiatric disorders because it is a serious condition that causes great suffering.”
The author also noted how Amazon banned the book the weekend before Congress voted on a new “radical transgender bill” known as the “Equality Act.”
“It seems that Amazon is using its massive power to distort the marketplace of ideas and is deceiving its own customers,” Anderson added.
