(JustPatriots.com)- In a counteroffensive to retake the southern Kherson region, Ukraine announced on Wednesday that its military had killed more than 200 Russian soldiers.
Ukraine’s Operations Command South stated, “the situation in our operational area continues challenging, but is under control by the defense forces.” The territory occupied by Vladimir Putin’s forces in the early phases of the war has been the subject of frequent reports from the command on Kyiv’s counteroffensive.
According to the leadership, the Ukrainian military killed 201 Russian soldiers and destroyed 12 T-72 tanks, six Russian ammo depots, and various other Russian military hardware.
The command also asserted that it had demolished a pontoon bridge constructed by Russian soldiers in the Kherson region’s captured Darivka settlement. After Ukrainian attacks on the Darivka Bridge, which Moscow had been using as a supply route, the Ukrainian military first learned that Russian forces were trying to construct a pontoon bridge across the Inhulets River in Darivka hamlet on July 27.
“Effective hits cause severe damage. In the vicinity of Darivka, the pontoon crossing built by the occupiers was destroyed,” It read.
According to the Operational Command South, Ukrainian aircraft carried out 24 attacks on Russian command posts, battle positions, logistical hubs, and transit routes in areas where Russian military people and equipment were concentrated.
Russian military losses are rarely made public. The last time Moscow provided statistics was on March 25, when a general told state media that 1,351 soldiers had died and 3,825 had been injured. In April, the British government reported that Russia had lost roughly 15,000 troops. The incident occurred amid Kyiv’s counteroffensive to retake the Kherson region, which accelerated on Monday night after Serhiy Khlan, a Kherson Regional Council deputy, claimed that Ukraine had successfully breached the “first line of defense of the Russians on the Kherson front” in a statement on Facebook.
This Monday, the Russian defense ministry insisted that Ukraine’s attempt to resume an offensive in the Kherson region had thus far been “unsuccessful.”
Kherson’s regional council deputy leader, Yuriy Sobolevskyi, claimed that Ukrainian forces had achieved “successes” there.
Russian soldiers defending Kherson were instructed to “go away” by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday night if they wanted to survive.
In a video speech, Zelensky stated that the occupiers should know they shall oust them to the border, the line of which has not changed. He said it was time for the Russian soldiers to flee if they wanted to live. Head home!
